Conservation Commission Minutes 10/10/17
CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Town of Monterey, Massachusetts
                                                                        
MEETING DATE: 10/10/17
Present: Tim Lovett, Claudia Crane, Mark Little and Rebecca Wolin
The meeting convened at 6:00p.m.

Highway Department – NOI #230-0288 – routine road & property maintenance for all town roads and properties (C. Crane is the project manager)
This hearing was continued from last month.  A DEP file number and comments from Natural Heritage have been received.  Claudia has been meeting with Shawn Tryon, Director of Operations to discuss the details of the NOI.  The only condition the Commission would impose would be that all projects under this NOI would need to be run by the Conservation Commission at least 72 hours prior to starting.  A motion was made to accept it as presented.  The motion was seconded and approved unanimously.

72 Tyringham Rd – Camp – RDA – address water runoff (M. Little is the project manager)
Tom Ingersoll was present to review the project details to address the water runoff and drainage issues.  A motion was made to approve the project as submitted as a N3.  The motion was seconded and approved unanimously.

3 Carl’s Lane – Gottlieb – Requests for Certificates of Compliance (SMA & WPA)
The Commission issued Certificates of Compliance to the Gottlieb’s for DEP filing #230-0271 and SMA14-03

58 & 73 Chestnut Hill Rd – SMA & WPA NOI - to drill a new public water supply well, construct a gravel access road and install utility corridor including water, pressure sewer, fire protection, gas and electric utility lines (M. Little is the project manager)
Representatives from Hume and Berkshire Engineering were present to review the project details.  This will be continued to next month as we have not received a DEP file # or comments from the Natural Heritage.  There is also a 401 issue that needs to be resolved first.  Abutter’s were present to express their concerns about how this project may impact their water resources.

148 Main Rd – Issue Certificate of Compliance SMA17-06
The Commission issued a Certificate of Compliance for SMA17-06, the project was not started and the owners do not intend to go forward with it as they are selling the property.

For Discussion:
  • Mail was reviewed.
  • Minutes from 8/8 & 9/12/17 were approved as written.
  • The Commission will be moving their meetings to the 2nd Wednesday of each month beginning with the November 8th meeting.
